DXC Update - Murray Invite

Darts,

The season is cruising by. There are 5 more races for everyone and a sixth for those that run at State. Two of them are this week - Davis District and BYU - followed by Antelope Island, Nicholls Park, and Region. It's important to make it to all of our practices, not just the easy ones.

We had a solid week of training capped off by some great performance at Murray. It was a long, hot day on a 2.95 mile course with a couple of good hills. The 1-5 spread for our varsity boys was only 20 seconds. The 1-8 spread was only 30 seconds! The great thing about having such a tight pack is if someone has a bad race, the others are there to carry our TEAM. If we can get that pack to move up by only 5-10 seconds then we are dangerous! The boys took 2nd place behind Skyridge. The varsity girls placed 4th behind some very good teams. Ellie got in the top 25 or so and didn't panic. By the end of the first mile she was in a pack of 5 or 6 girls and stayed tough the rest of the race to finish 3rd in a very talented field of runners. I've posted the rest of our results at the bottom of this email. The biggest improvements this week belong to Carter G (9th in Freshmen race), Quinn C, and Josh E for the boys and Janelle B, Alex M, Katie C, and Kara H for the girls.

The results for all the races were up, but now only the varsity races are posted here. You can see results on Athletic.net, but they haven't separated Davis and Farmington runners so team scores are incorrect and our team has doubled in size.

Athletes of the Week:
Nate Iverson, Hunter Kitchen
Abi Waddoups, Janelle Burke

Davis District Championships
Wednesday (9/12) at Layton Park. The race is 2.75 miles. There's an open race at 5:10. See if you can convince your friends and family to run! :)
Parents, each school has been asked to provide two adult volunteers to help with the finish, direct traffic, help time, or stand guard over gates. Let me know if you can help.
