Darts -
I hope that you are as excited as I am to begin the summer training and to start working towards the cross country season. It has the potential to be one of our greatest seasons ever. I encourage all of you to come into the season with goals about what kind of attitude you are going to bring into this season - that you are going to be positive and unified, and that you are going to challenge yourself and dig deeper than you ever have before.

Cross Country Meeting - in my classroom on Tuesday, May 29th at 3:15pm (late enough for the junior high students to make it). Please help me spread the word. I was late getting the fliers out to the junior highs. Next year's 9th graders are eligible to run with us. We will be going over important summer training information. I will hand out our tentative schedule for the fall and will talk about our training plan for the first 5 weeks of summer.

High Altitude Camp - Will be on July 30-August 3. This will be for those athletes who train with us through the summer and are ready for the camp by that time. More information will be sent out later.

Blood Run 5k - Steve Petty is in charge of the Blood Run 5k. It is for a great cause (Utah Hemophilia Foundation). The race is on Saturday, June 9th at 8:00am at Wheeler Farm in Salt Lake. The cost is $17. For more information go to www.bloodrun.org or email Steve Petty at sdpetty@msn.com. His phone number is 801-201-6545. He also has volunteer opportunities for anyone who would like to help out.

We will officially start counting summer mileage on Monday, June 4th. It will give us the same amount of summer mile weeks as in the past with the week later start date in the fall. It is recommended that you start running next week with anything from 3-7 miles and a total of about 25-30 miles for the week. That will help us gradually increase as we get started.

I look forward to running with you this summer.
Let me know if you have any questions.
