DXC Update - Nov 5

Darts,

I hope you've been able to relax a bit after the 12-hour run. We ended up running 126.5 in 12 hours! Thanks for all those who participated, helped out, and made it a fun day. If you have any donations, please bring them to me this week.

We had a solid week of training. I was really happy with the mile repeats at Barnes and the tempo by Ponds. A group of boys have been meeting at 6:00 in the morning to get a few extra easy miles in before school. It helps loosen up a bit from the previous day and keep our mileage up without really noticing. It's been fun and surprisingly the boys have a lot of energy in the morning and are very talkative. It's not without drama though... we have had a couple of run-ins with a gang of running moms that have slightly heckled us. You're welcome to join us (girls included), but we leave right at 6:00. Be there at 5:55.

Athletes of the week:
Nate Sheffield and Emma Oliver for being so helpful at the 12-hour run.

Pre-NXN Race
We're hosting a race on the Region course at Layton Park on Wednesday at 4:00 pm. The race is open to everyone. I hope to see our 8th graders there. We're not getting excused from school and there will not be a bus. You'll have to find your own ride over there. Be there by 3:00. We're not separating into boys/girls, or JV/varsity. There will only be one race with everybody in it. Surf 'n' Swim doesn't open the gates for us unless we have people monitoring the gates. I'll need volunteers at Surf 'n' Swim, timing, the finish chute, and results.

TEAM Banquet
We're still planning on having the banquet on Thursday at 6:00. I haven't pinned down the location just yet. We'll order pizza and have people sign up to bring salads and desserts. I hope most of you can make it even if you're not running with us anymore.

NXR
A reminder that the waiver and the money ($280) for Nike Regionals is due by Friday this week. You can bring it to any of the practices during the week (except Wednesday). Make all checks out to 'Davis Running Club'. The waivers were attached to last week's email.
